The Margaret River Wine Show is open to all producers of Margaret River GI wine, as defined by grapes grown west of the Gladstone Line (115° and 18' East).

All wines must be made from a minimum of 85% Margaret River GI grown grapes.
|

|
The year, appellation and variety of all wines entered must comply with the current Food Standard and AWBC Act.
|
|

|
Varieties must be clearly indicated on the entry form in descending proportions and on the exhibitor labels. If not specified the wine shall not be accepted as a valid entry.

|

|
Vintage must be shown on the entry form and on the exhibitor labels.
|
|

|
Wines entered must be taken from commercially bottled stock (exhibits drawn from bulk storage or unfinished stock are ineligible).

|
Each wine can only be entered in one class at the show.
|
|

|
All wines must be commercially available.
|

Wineries must hold a minimum stock of:
i. 100 cases for commercial classes 1-13
ii. 50 cases for exhibition classes 14-24
This rule will be strictly adhered to. Following judging a random
selection of wineries will be chosen. Those chosen will be visited
to verify stock levels and the commercial availability of wine.

Each exhibitor can only submit a maximum of 2 wines in each class.
|

|
Each exhibit must consist of 4 bottles in the normal sale size,
which will also cover stock required for the exhibitors tasting.

All bottles submitted must be clearly labelled using the official
exhibition labels that will be mailed to the exhibitor upon receipt
of the entry form. When affixing labels exhibitors must ensure winery
code, class number, vintage and variety are all legibly written
on the label.

To help cover costs entry fees are as follows:
MRWIA members $30 per exhibit
Non MRWIA members $45 per exhibit

All wine entered must conform to the respective acts of the state and commonwealth governments, which govern the manufacture of wine.

Results will be made available to exhibitors.
|
|

|
All exhibits become the property of the organiser.
|
|

Exhibitors must be producers of wine for public sale and licensed
as per the laws of the Department Of Racing Gaming & Liquor.

Awards will be made by a panel of independent judges selected by
the Wine Show Committee. Judges decisions are final and no correspondence
shall be entered into.

|
If less than 6 entries are received per class the submitted entries
shall be judged in the Others Class for that section.
|
|

|
Classes will be reviewed annually to reflect industry trends and
entry levels in preceding shows.
|
|

|
All exhibits will be judged as follows:
Colour and clarity 3 points
Bouquet 7 points
Palate 10 points
|
|
5
|
Awards will consist of Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for all wines
achieving the required scores.

Wines for the 2003 Margaret River Wine Show will be judged in the
