Commonwealth Bank 2005 Margaret River Wine Show
The Margaret River Wine Show is a regional show open to producers of Margaret
River GI wine. It seeks to:
- Provide an opportunity for local grape growers and winemakers to receive appraisal and feedback from some of the nations best judges
- Promote wine styles distinct to the Margaret River wine region
- Showcase the best examples of wines from the region
- Unite the wine community of Margaret River with the common goal being the pursuit of wine excellence
The Commonwealth Bank 2005 Margaret River Wine Show has changed to ensure
it is continually evolving to showcase the finest of the region's wines.
The Association has introduced two new trophies and museum classes for the
Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wine varieties to this year's wine show.
The elevation of status for Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay reflects the
varieties' significant contribution in establishing Margaret River as a
premium wine-producing region.
A trophy has been introduced for Best Sauvignon Blanc wine variety, to acknowledge
the outstanding quality of the variety, particularly from the 2005 vintage.
