NEW GROUP WINEMAKER FOR VASSE FELIX
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Virginia Willcock as Group Winemaker
for Vasse Felix.
As Group Winemaker for Vasse Felix, Virginia will be responsible for the coordination
and operation of the wine production area, including grape resource management,
staff coordination and production client relationships, with a strong emphasis on the
development of the Heytesbury Group wine brands.
This new position of Group Winemaker takes into consideration the Heytesbury
Group’s plans for expansion within the wine industry of Western Australia and the
determination for the business to ensure the appropriate focus in maintained on the
Vasse Felix brand.
Colin Russell (Production Manager), Bruce Pearse (Viticulture Manager) and David
Dowden (Senior Winemaker) will all report directly to the Group Winemaker.
Dave Dowden will remain as the Vasse Felix senior winemaker continuing to focus
his passion on producing the highest quality wines from Margaret River for the Vasse
Felix label.
Virginia, who has been employed as Group Winemaker for Australian Wine Holdings
Limited (AWL) for the past 3 years, will bring to Vasse Felix over 15 years of
winemaking experience and knowledge, including several years of wine industry
knowledge as Executive Committee Member of the Margaret River Wine Industry
Association.
Virginia will commence working for Vasse Felix on Monday 16th October
2006.
