Margaret River Precinct

At the Commonwealth Bank 2005 Margaret River Wine Show Exhibitor Tasting, Chairman of Judges Brian Croser highlighted the need for Margaret River, as a region, to pressure the Australian wine industry to keep our fine wines in the spotlight.

To promote Margaret River as a region and to reinforce the value of Brand Margaret River, the Association created the Margaret River Precinct.

Wineries promoted individual brands under the umbrella of the Margaret River Wine Region.

The stand participants were;

Cape Mentelle Celestial Bay Chalice Bridge
Chapman Grove Clairault Wines Juniper Estate
Leeuwin Estate Sandalford Wines Stella Bella Wines
Vasse Felix Wills Domain Xanadu Wines

MARGARET RIVER VARIETAL BAR

The Margaret River Precinct features a Varietal Bar, concentrating on Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay - two varieties that Margaret River does exceptionally well. Participants in the Varietal Bar are;

Cape Grace Evans & Tate Fraser Gallop Estate
Merops Wines Witchcliffe Estate Woodside Valley Estate

The Precinct used the new Margaret River Wine regional brand, developed by the Association. Designed by First Nature, it had to be plain not to detract from wineries' individual brands but eye-catching to draw attention to Margaret River.
